Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering Option, B.S.G.S.


First Year Experience (1 hour)


Sciences, Mathematics, or Engineering Electives (11 hours)


Petroleum engineering, chemistry, physics, mathematics or statistics electives selected with approval of advisor.

General Electives (6 hours)


Selected with approval of advisor.

Humanities, Social Sciences, and English (24 hours)


Humanities and Social Sciences Electives (18 hours)


Limited to courses that qualify as humanities or social sciences and meet the requirements of the Tulsa curriculum.

Total: 134 hours

Students must complete each of the required major courses listed under the curriculum with at least a grade of “C” and an overall G.P.A. of at least 2.0 in order to receive a degree in geosciences. Major courses are all those listed under the heading of Geosciences Professional Courses.

Foundation courses in geosciences include MATH 2014 , CHEM 1013 , CHEM 1011 GEOL 1014 , and PHYS 2053 . Refer to the table  for specific GPA requirements.
