Tulsa Curriculum Requirements (53 hours)


Core Curriculum (28 hours)


General Curriculum (25 hours)


  • Block I Aesthetic Inquiry and Creative Experience (6 hours)
  • Block II Historical and Social Interpretation (12 hours)
  • Block III Scientific Investigation (7 hours including one lab)

Notes:


**AS 2001  is required for sophomores.

***Language requirement may vary depending upon placement.

Some students may be required to take ENGL 1004 Introduction to College Writing  and MATH 1043 Essentials of Algebra .

German Major Requirements (30 hours)


German majors complete 30 hours. Twenty-seven hours must be at the 3000 and 4000 levels and at least 15 hours must be at the 4000 level. Students majoring in German may count GERM 2013  toward both General Curriculum and German major requirements.

Students may choose to take LANG 4003 Methods of Teaching Languages  or three hours in German area studies courses offered by other departments (e.g., history, philosophy, music, art history, theatre, political science, English, or anthropology). These courses must be approved in advance by the major advisor.

In addition, German majors fulfill a culture requirement by completing a course approved by their major advisor.

One semester of study abroad is required, but this requirement can be waived for A&S students who demonstrate that it imposes a significant hardship.
