Arts, Culture, and Entertainment (ACE) Management, B.A.

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Arts, Culture, and Entertainment (ACE) Management curriculum outlined below provides an interdisciplinary program in business, art, culture, entertainment, and entrepreneurship within an area of specialization in visual arts; performing arts; entertainment, film, and media; cultural and public administration; or music industry. The program prepares students for careers within arts, culture, and entertainment organizations and related businesses, and for graduate study spanning visual arts management, performing arts management, museum studies, entertainment management, business, music industry, public administration, among other fields. Students are required to complete practicums and internships for practical application of the concepts and techniques that they learned in the classroom, culminating in a senior project. Semester internships may be completed locally, regionally, nationally, and/or internationally through special arrangements, including in the London program.
All students complete the same core studies in arts, culture, and entertainment management, as well as a set of courses within their selected specialization, tailored to the specialization’s focus and the student’s individual interests.

Learning Outcomes
Students who complete the undergraduate program in arts, culture and entertainment management will: - Explain the core business functions, impacts, and intersections between arts, culture, and entertainment organizations (such as finance, marketing, fundraising, economic and social development, entrepreneurship, social justice, and technology) and apply their knowledge in at least one area of the field and in new contexts.
- Demonstrate clear, precise written and oral communication as well as interpersonal and professional skills, such as connecting with new networks, informational and professional interviewing, and working with others to realize common goals.

Students complete one specialization in in visual arts; performing arts; entertainment, film, and media; cultural and public administration; or music industry. Students may fulfill their specialization requirements by completing a second major or dual degree in one of the constituent specialization disciplines or in a major that aligns with the scope of a specialization and has approval of program director. Students may complete a double specialization with approval of faculty mentor. Visual Arts
For students interested in professions within the visual arts fields spanning all visual arts disciplines and types of organizations such as galleries, museums, studios, and artist support agencies. Performing Arts
For students interested in the fine and performing arts professions such as classical music, theatre, dance, and opera. Cultural and Public Administration
For students interested in professions within non-profits, cultural institutions, and those focused on social impact such as cultural centers, civic councils, community organizations, and organizations serving the humanities. Entertainment, Film, and Media
For students interested in professions within the broad scope of the entertainment industry such as film business, entertainment business, and large and small media companies or initiatives. Music Industry
For students interested in the multiple professions within the music industry spanning recording, publishing, label management, artist and repertoire, venue management, artist management, and creative production. Required Minor (12 hours)

Note:
Non-business students pursuing a major in arts, culture and entertainment management must have junior standing and complete the following prerequisites with a grade of C or higher before enrolling in MKTG 3003 : ACCT 2113 , ECON 2023 , and QM 2013 . |
