Learning Outcomes

Students who complete the undergraduate program in finance will be able to:

explain the function of capital and money markets in the context of domestic and global financial systems.
-
apply valuation techniques in order to make investment recommendations.
- assess risk and return characteristics of investment opportunities;
- communicate effectively financial concepts, recommendations, and decisions.

- Other Block II electives (6 hours)
- Block III, Scientific Investigation (7 hours, including one hour of laboratory or field experience)

Finance Major Requirements (24 hours)
Note:
Major electives must include two finance electives and one elective chosen from accounting, business law, finance, computer information systems, quantitative methods, economics, mathematics, or statistics.
General Education Electives (9 hours)
Only courses from outside of the Collins College of Business may be used for general education electives.
Free Electives (6 hours)
Any non-required undergraduate course offered by the institution.
Finance, B.S.B.A., Additional Requirements
Finance majors must complete ENGL 1033 , MATH 1143 , MATH 1243 (or higher level math courses), and ENGL 3003 with a grade of C or higher.
Finance majors must meet the college’s language requirements .
Finance majors must complete each of the Business Core courses with a grade of C or higher, except for courses designated Pass/Fail.
ECON 2013 and ECON 2023 are required courses in the Business Core which are also used to fulfill part of the Tulsa Curriculum Block II requirement.
