Business Administration, B.S.B.A.


The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) degree requires successful completion of 120 hours of coursework.

Learning Outcomes

Students who complete the B.S.B.A. program will be:

  • effective and professional communicators;
  • knowledgeable of ethical, global, and social environmental factors and how they relate to business decisions; and
  • knowledgeable of the functional areas of business.

Tulsa Curriculum and First Year Experience (46 hours)


Core Curriculum and First Year Experience (21 hours)


  • (with grade of C or higher)
  • Language. Students must complete or show proficiency through the first year of a modern foreign language (8 hours)1 or a student may meet the foreign language requirement by earning nine (9) hours of credit in American Sign Language by successfully completing CDDE 1003 - American Sign Language 1, CDDE 1013 - American Sign Language 2 and CDDE 2003 - American Sign Language 3 with a grade of at least a C in each course. (This provision does not apply to International Business and Language (IBL) majors who must earn 14 hours of a foreign language to earn an IBL degree.)

    1 The faculty of the Collins College of Business have voted to recognize Cherokee as a modern foreign language. Business majors may elect to meet the foreign language requirement by successfully completing Beginning Cherokee 1, CHRK 1004, and Beginning Cherokee 2, CHRK 1014. (This provision does not apply to International Business and Language (IBL) majors who must earn 14 hours of a foreign language to earn an IBL degree.)

General Curriculum (25 hours)


Business Core (35 hours)


Business majors must earn a grade of C or higher (unless noted otherwise) in each of the business core courses in order to meet requirements for graduation.

Major Required Courses (18-31 hours)


Students pursuing the B.S.B.A. may major in accounting , business information systems economics , energy management , finance international business and language , management , or marketing ; or they may apply to enroll in accelerated graduate or law  programs.

General Education Electives (9 hours)


Only courses from outside the Collins College of Business may be used for general education electives.

Free Electives (0-12 hours depending on major)


Any non-required undergraduate course the institution offers.

Suggested Sequence of Study


Students are admitted to the Collins College of Business as freshmen and are encouraged to explore and study all the disciplines in which they could declare a major. To supplement this process and to build on a hierarchy of knowledge and general education, the following sequence of courses is presented as a guideline for study. Specific majors have their own required and suggested sequence of courses. The suggested sequence of study is different for the majors in energy management  and international business and language

Note:


**ECON 2013  and ECON 2023  are required courses in the business core which are also used to fulfill part of the Tulsa Curriculum Block II requirement.
