The University of Tulsa is not accepting applications or matriculating new undergraduate students into the bachelor’s program in deaf education beyond the fall 2019 term. Students who have matriculated into the bachelor’s program may not declare deaf education as a major after the spring 2020 term.

- U.S. History Elective is recommended (3 hours)

- BIOL Elective (3 hours)
- PHYS Elective (3 hours)
- GEOL Elective (3 hours)
- CHEM Elective (3 hours)
- One hour lab
Notes:
*AS 1001 is required for freshmen matriculating at TU immediately after graduating from high school.
**AS 2001 is required for sophomores.
***Language requirement may vary depending upon placement.
****No more than two courses from any one discipline may be used to fulfill the General Curriculum requirements. Two courses must meet the Cultural Diversity and Gender Studies requirement.
Oklahoma PK-12 certification requires 4 courses in language, arts, math, science and social studies.
Specialization Courses (27 hours)
Certification Area (7-13 hours)
Students should consult with their academic advisor to determine subject area courses that are appropriate for their intended area of certification. Upon graduation students should contact the Oklahoma State Department of Education regarding options to obtain teacher certification.
Professional Education (27 hours)
Required for certification.
