The Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science (B.S.E.S.S.) degree requires successful completion of 124-125 hours of coursework as detailed below:

Tulsa Curriculum


Every undergraduate must fulfill the requirements of the Tulsa curriculum, which has two parts: the core curriculum and the general curriculum.

General (26 hours)


Block I Electives (6 hours)


Block II Electives (12 hours)


Recommended Block II electives:

Block III Electives (7-10 hours)


Option 2

Available to students in the general  and teacher certification  emphases. Student who choose this option must take one 3-hour general elective to fulfill degree requirements.

Option 3

Available to students in the general  and teacher certification  emphases.

Emphasis (64-66 Hours)


General Emphasis  (66 hours)

Pre-professional Emphasis  (66 hours)

Teacher Certification Emphasis  (65 hours)

Pre-Athletic Training Emphasis  (65 hours)

Pre-med Emphasis  (64 hours)

Total: 124-125 hours


*Some students will be required to enroll in ENGL 1004  prior to ENGL 1033 .

**BIOL 2153 , BIOL 2151 , BIOL 2173 , and BIOL 2171  must be completed with a grade of C or higher.
