PHYS 2063 General Physics II (3 hours) A second calculus-based course in Physics: Electromagnetic Fields and Circuits. Topics include Coulomb’s and Gauss’ Law, electric fields and potentials, magnetic fields, Ampere’s and Faraday’s laws, DC circuits, Maxwell’s equations, introduction to electromagnetic waves. Methods of vector calculus are used extensively. Prerequisite: PHYS 2053 . Must be completed prior to taking this course. Corequisite: MATH 2024 . Must be taken either prior to or at the same time as this course.
