ANTH 6273 Archaeology and History of the African Diaspora(3 Hours) Investigating slavery and freedom in the U.S., South America, and Caribbean through African Diaspora archaeology. Exploring food-ways, legal codes, cultural transformation, resistance and marronage, religion and burial grounds, gender roles, healing and disease, and post-emancipation life across the diaspora.
