CS 2503 Scientific Programming


(3 hours)
An introduction to structured programming, object oriented programming, and understanding programming structures. Computer implementations of models, numerical methods, the analysis of algorithms, and computer visualization tools. Statistical, scientific and engineering related problems are emphasized. An introduction to the R language. Corequisite: MATH 2024 . Prior programming experience helpful but not required. Students may not receive credit for both CS 1043  and CS 2503 . Course includes lecture and weekly computer laboratory assignments.
