LAW - 5972-ML Seminar: Contemporary Topics in Environmental Law & Public Health(2 hours)
Students will study and discuss contemporary topics in environmental and public health law. Prior to engaging in a series of discussions of legal and legislative “hot topics” (such as health care access and climate change and the public’s health) the course will begin with an examination of: 1) the sources of and limits on the government’s power-at the federal, state and local levels-to promote population health; and 2) the various ways the government’s power to promote public health-particularly including management of environmental health risks-is actually exercised. The final grade will be based on a seminar paper and on class participation.
Special: Writing, Seminar Certificates: HLC, SERL LLM: Energy
