Academic Programs

TU College of Law offers intellectually rich and engaging instruction through a wide range of course offerings and experiential learning opportunities that appeal to students with diverse talents, backgrounds, and interests. Through the clinical education program, field study opportunities, and skills coursework, TU College of Law provides the right blend of practical experience and doctrinal training for students to become effective and ethical professionals.

The Juris Doctor curriculum  includes intensive, supervised educational experiences in the clinical education program and externship program, as well as coordinated courses of study in specialized academic centers, study abroad opportunities, and multiple joint degree programs with other TU graduate programs on campus:

Faculty

TU College of Law faculty are well recognized for their outstanding teaching and scholarship. The low 9.8:1 faculty-to-student ratio means students get to know their professors. A number of professors have written the casebooks students use in class and authored articles relied upon by the U.S. Supreme Court.

  • Co-author of Sports Law: Cases and Materials
  • Co-author of the first casebook for American law students in comparative and international family law
  • Co-author of the first casebook on capital punishment
  • Author of the first casebook on Indian gaming law
  • Author of two law review articles on federal Indian law, cited in the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark decisions
  • Contributing author to Cohen’s Handbook of Federal Indian Law
