SPAN 4023 Bilingualism (3 hours) Approaches bilingualism from a psycholinguistic and social perspective, with emphasis on US Hispanics and various psycholinguistic and sociolinguistic aspects of bilingualism, such as code-switching and language mixing, age-related differences, the influence of the first language, and the role of attitudes, motivation, and learning context. Prerequisite: SPAN 3123 or permission of instructor.
