HIST 3023 Modern America and American Indians (3 hours) HCGD Lecture/discussion class that focuses on the history of American Indian people in North America (north of Mexico) since 1900. Explores the resurgence of tribal nationhood, economic, social, and cultural challenges, and the twists and turns of U.S. and Canadian Indian policies. Also emphasizes the intertwined histories and destinies of American Indians and non-Native Americans. Prerequisites: HIST 2573 and ANTH 3103 .
