Coaching Minor

Minors are not stand-alone programs. Minors may only be pursued while the student is enrolled in their degree program and cannot be finished or awarded after the student has earned their degree.
- Students may not major and minor in the same discipline.
- Students with a minor must complete a minimum of six credits of 3000/4000 level courses outside the major discipline, refer to the minor requirements. These six credits could be taken as part of the minor.
- For a second minor, at least twelve credits must be different from the major and the first minor.
- For a third, or subsequent minor, at least nine additional credits (per minor) must be different from the major and any other declared minor.
- Students pursuing Exercise Sports Science as a major are not eligible for the minor.
The Kinesiology and Rehabilitative Science (KRS) department provides students with the opportunity to complement their degree program with an undergraduate minor in Coaching Education. This minor is open to all undergraduate students. Participation in this minor requires an additional 18 credit hours of coursework. The coaching minor provides students with additional training to pursue opportunities in sports, wellness, and coaching as well as making them more marketable and proficient in these settings. The coaching minor is offered to all students, requires students to complete 18 hours of coursework, at least 15 hours must be taken at TU with at least a 2.5 grade point average. Only 3-4 hours accepted as duplicated credit.
