Indian Law (Online), MJIL

The Master of Jurisprudence in Indian Law (MJIL) at the University of Tulsa College of Law is a cutting edge degree program that moves students’ careers forward and helps them work effectively in Indian Country. The courses in the MJIL program are developed and taught by recognized experts. MJIL candidates will successfully complete four required courses and six additional courses totaling 30 credit hours.

Program Learning Outcomes

1. Students who earn the Master of Jurisprudence in Indian Law degree will:
2. Comprehensively research Indian law and policy related issues using the modern research tools.
3. Review complex fact situations involving the principals of federal Indian law and Tribal Government, and from them distill the issues concerning the ways that tribes interrelate with federal or state governmental entities, or with individuals, and memorialize their understanding.
4. Become familiar with the major federal Indian law policy shifts over time and how they have impacted Indian law and policy as we know it today.
5. Gain additional knowledge in areas which may include tribal economic development, natural resources or social services.
