Heterodox Economics in the Study of Capitalism Minor
|
|
The Heterodox tradition considers the economy differently than the mainstream tradition. As examples, instead of scarcity, we see abundance; instead of human greed as natural, we find cooperation over competition bears tremendous fruit on both theoretical and practical planes, instead of the magic of the market, we consider markets to be powerful social forces that no less require regulation and control. Fundamentally economics is a social science and the Heterodox approach considers capitalism in this socio-historical content.
