Learning Outcomes
Students who complete the undergraduate program in mathematics or applied mathematics will:
- Demonstrate mathematical reasoning skills and formal logic to develop convincing mathematical arguments.
- Demonstrate the ability to use computational tools to enhance mathematical thinking and communication.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply algebraic, geometric, calculus, and higher-level concepts to solve mathematical problems.

General Curriculum Some major required courses may be double counted to fulfill a quad requirement. Mathematics Major Requirements
Minor Field (12 hours)
A minor field recognized by the University or a coherent concentration of at least 12 credits (6 at the upper level) approved by the departmental advisor. General Electives (35 hours)
Total: 120 hours
To become a candidate for a degree in mathematics, a student must complete all mathematics courses in the curriculum with a grade point average of at least 2.0, and earn a grade point average of 2.0 or higher overall. |
