Economics, B.S.B.A.


Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) with a major in economics must adhere to Collins College of Business policies. Students will be assigned a faculty mentor from the Department of Economics  in Kendall College of Arts and Sciences .

Learning Outcomes

Students completing the undergraduate program in economics (B.S.B.A) will demonstrate:

  1. technical competence.
  2. analytical abilities across a wide range of economic schools of thought.
  3. their passion for learning with a focus on economics.

Tulsa Curriculum and First Year Experience


General Curriculum


Some major required courses may be double counted to fulfill a quad requirement.  

Language Requirement (8 hours)


Students must complete or show proficiency through the first year of a modern foreign language (8 hours)1 or a student may meet the foreign language requirement by earning nine (9) hours of credit in American Sign Language by successfully completing CDDE 1003 - American Sign Language 1, CDDE 1013 - American Sign Language 2 and CDDE 2003 - American Sign Language 3 with a grade of at least a C in each course. (This provision does not apply to International Business and Language (IBL) majors who must earn 14 hours of a foreign language to earn an IBL degree.)​

The faculty of the Collins College of Business have voted to recognize Cherokee as a modern foreign language. Business majors may elect to meet the foreign language requirement by successfully completing Beginning Cherokee 1, CHRK 1004, and Beginning Cherokee II, CHRK 1014. (This provision does not apply to International Business and Language (IBL) majors who must earn 14 hours of a foreign language to earn an IBL degree.)

General Electives (9 hours)


Only courses from outside of the Collins College of Business may be used for general education electives.

Free Electives (12 hours)


Any non-required undergraduate course offered by the institution.

Total: 120 hours


Economics, B.S.B.A., Additional Requirements


Economics majors must complete ENGL 1033 , MATH 1143 , MATH 1243  (or higher level math courses), with a grade of C or higher.

B.S.B.A. Economics majors must meet the college’s language requirements .

Economics majors must complete each of the Business Core courses with a grade of C or higher, except for courses designated Pass/Fail.

ECON 2013  and ECON 2023  are required courses in the Business Core which are also used to fulfill part of the Tulsa Curriculum Quad III requirement.
