Data Science, B.S.D.S.

Learning Outcomes 

  • Provides students with a foundational understanding and mastery of the mathematical and scientific principles and techniques associated with data-centric inquiry. 
  • Instills theoretical aspects of data science reinforced with experiential learning steeping students in key processes of data curation and modeling, statistical analysis, and visualization.
  • Following graduation, graduates will address growing regional and national workforce needs for employees with data science and data analytics skillsets.

Tulsa Curriculum and First Year Experience (25 hours)

Must be taken from Block III list or the following: BIOL 1603  or higher, CHEM 1013  or higher, GPHY 2503  or higher, GEOL 1014  or higher, PHYS 2053  or higher, ECE 2003  or any Engineering Science except ES 2513 . An associated lab component, offered either as a separate 1-hour credit accompanying a 3-hour lecture or built into a 4-hour course, must be taken with at least one of these selections.

Total: 120 hours


To become a candidate for a degree data science, a student must complete all computer science and data science courses in the curriculum with a grade point average of at least 2.0, and earn a grade point average of 2.0 or higher overall.
