Creative Writing Minor

The creative writing minor consists of twelve hours of creative writing courses. Students who minor in creative writing must take ENGL 2403 . Six of the twelve hours must be at the 3000 or 4000 levels.

Several courses in English & Creative Writing (ENGL), Media Studies (MSTU), and Film Studies (FLM) may count towards the minor.  In English & Creative Writing, any 3000 or 4000 level course that has a Tag of “C” will count.

Specific courses will vary from year to year, and special topics offerings may be added.  Prospective students should consult with their student success coach to develop a course sequence that will work best with their major and other requirements.  It is recommend that they also consult with the Chair of the Department of English & Creative Writing.  Some of the courses typically offered towards the minor are listed below.
