Leadership TU

Leadership TU challenges students to think differently about leadership. In this program, professors guide students toward becoming not only effective leaders, but also effective team members. Through lectures and real-world applications, students will be equipped to lead by tackling interesting, complex social problems and designing and articulating solutions. In this program, students will meet friends, build connections with future leaders and teammates with the goal of making a positive and impactful difference for themselves and the community.

Eligibility

Leadership TU is open to incoming freshman and sophomore transfer students. Grade-point-average and test scores are not considered during the selection process.

Application Requirements

  • Submit a completed application for admission to The University of Tulsa by Jan. 15.
  • Submit the online Special Programs Application, with short essays, by Jan. 15.*
  • Visit campus by March 1.*

*Presidential Scholarship applicants will be automatically considered for Leadership TU and do not have to submit a separate application beyond what is required for Presidential Scholarship application.

Program Learning Outcomes

Students who complete Leadership TU will be able to:

  1. Examine multiple attribute of impactful leaders and levels of leadership.
  2. Consider multiple attributes of effective teams including team formation and dynamics.
  3. Work collaboratively and purposefully within various teams.
  4. Communicate confidently and persuasively with other leaders and team members.
  5. Identify personal values, purpose and mission to guide ongoing personal and professional development.
