Humanities, Social Sciences and English (21 hours)


Students who select the pre-med option must take SOC 1033  and PSY 2253  as Block II electives. PSY 2253  is approved as a Block II elective for chemical engineering pre-med option majors only.

First Year Experience (1 hour)


Chemical Engineering Option (22-32 hours)


Students seeking the B.S.Ch.E. degree must complete one of the following degree options:

General Option  (22-23 hours)

Pre-med Option   (31-32 hours)

Total: 122-135 hours


Notes:


*Selections are limited to courses that qualify as humanities or social sciences electives as defined by ABET accreditation and the Tulsa curriculum. These courses must demonstrate depth of study in at least one area rather than be simply a series of introductory courses (i.e., two of the courses must have the same departmental designation).

For calculating grade point averages, major courses shall be: ES 3003 , ES 3053 , and ES 3073 , and all chemical engineering courses. A chemical engineering student must earn a grade point average of 2.0 or higher in the major and overall in order to receive a degree in chemical engineering.

For calculating grade point averages, foundation courses in chemical engineering include MATH 2014 , MATH 2024 , CHEM 1013 , CHEM 1023 , and PHYS 2053 . A chemical engineering student must earn a grade point average of 2.5 or higher in foundation courses in order to receive a degree in chemical engineering. A chemical engineering student must complete all foundation courses within three semesters.
