Biomedical Engineering Minor

Students majoring in any discipline may minor in biomedical engineering. Interested students should consult their faculty advisor for details.

Biomedical Engineering Foundation (4 hours)
Biology Core Courses (7-8 hours)
Two of the following three groups of courses:
Group A (4 hours)
One of the following sets of courses:
Group B (3 hours)
One of the following courses:
Biomedical Engineering Specialization Courses (9 hours)
Three courses selected from the following:
Notes:
Biological science majors must complete BIOL 2153 , BIOL 2173 , and either BIOL 2151 or BIOL 2171 to fulfill the biology core requirement.
CS 2123 may be counted toward the minor in biomedical engineering or toward the student’s major, but not both.
All students must complete at least six hours of engineering coursework (beyond the required biomedical engineering foundation courses) from the list above. Courses which meet this designation are those offered by the following ABET-accredited programs: chemical engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and engineering physics.
