Organizational studies is an interdisciplinary major composed of 30 hours of coursework leading to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. It is designed for those students who wish to study organizational behavior and structure in the public and private realms, without limiting themselves to one of the participating disciplines. The idea is to provide students with knowledge and skills which will prepare them for entry level administrative positions in both public and private organizations. A minor is required.

Learning Objectives
Students will
- Develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral forms.
- Develop an understanding of the management of organizations.
- Gain an understanding of the diverse social, cultural and economic contexts in which organizations function.

- Block I Aesthetic Inquiry and Creative Experience (6 hours)
- Block II Historical and Social Interpretation (12 hours)
- Block III Scientific Investigation (7 hours including one lab)

Senior Project
Core Curriculum requirement (3 hours). Not counted as part of the major.
Notes:
No more than 15 credits in the major may be taken in courses offered by the Collins College of Business. Students planning to use upper level business electives should choose at least one of the economics courses as a lower level elective.
SP 2113 Public Speaking is recommended to fill a Block I elective requirement.
Required Minor (12-15 hours)
Students must, with the advisor’s approval, enroll in at least 12 hours in a minor field. Six of these hours must be at the 3000 level or above.
