The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers programs leading to the Master of Engineering (M.E.)  degree in electrical engineering. The program provides advanced preparation in specialized areas of electrical engineering for recent graduates and working engineers who wish to improve their technical capabilities.

With the Tandy School of Computer Science , the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers a joint M.S.E., M.E., and Ph.D. programs in computer engineering which provides opportunities for advanced specialization and scholarly research in computer engineering and related fields. Mission Statement

The mission of the graduate program in Electrical Engineering is to

  • Provide a modern, high quality educational experience for our students;
  • provide the knowledge and principles on which electrical engineering is founded in order to graduate engineers who are technically competent, creative, articulate, and socially aware.

Learning Objectives

Master of Engineering. The M.E. degree program prepares students to:

  • Solve electrical engineering problems with advanced knowledge and principles; and
  • Obtain new skills needed for professional development.

Master of Science in Engineering. The M.S.E. degree program prepares students to:

  • Solve electrical engineering problems with advanced knowledge and principles;
  • Obtain new skills needed for professional development; and
  • Conduct research using technical skills and knowledge acquired in the program.
