LAW - 5972-TP Seminar: White Collar Crime(2 hours)
Federal and state prosecutors are demonstrating a greater willingness to prosecute white collar crime. In addition, federal and state legislators have been increasingly inclined to criminalize what they feel is undesirable business conduct and to impose substantial penalties for such conduct. This seminar will cover a number of topics including: A general introduction to criminal liability of business enterprises, Personal liability in the enterprise setting, Substantive elements of selected business crimes statutes, the use and purpose of various sanctions in the white collar crime setting, and how entities can minimize their criminal liability exposure.
