LAW - 5972-JP Seminar: Civil Rights & Legislation(2 hours)
This course examines various civil rights statute including 42 U.S.C. §§ 1981, 1982 and 1983 with special emphasis on § 1983. It is designed to provide students with an understanding of the decisional law which has developed in the context of the more significant civil rights statutes as well as developing practical skills such as drafting civil rights complaints, jury instructions and memorandums assessing the weight to be attributed to specific types of evidence.
