PSY 7163 Psychiatric Principles(3 hours) Provides the student with a research-based knowledge in psychopathology (conceptualization, etiology, symptoms) and treatment (treatment techniques and their efficacy). Students will be exposed to the structure and use of the DSM-IV-TR categorization while reviewing the specific diagnostic criteria and treatment alternatives for a wide range of psychiatric disorders. This course is for the physician’s assistants program and not open to clinical graduate students.
