HON 2223 The Birth of Modernity (3 hours) Quad Three This course explores the birth of the modern age in Europe, which brought about revolutions in our understanding of nature, freedom, social relations, government, and faith. Through dramatic, philosophical, theological, literary, and historical works, this class explores the foundational texts and questions of the modern period, from the sixteenth to the late eighteenth centuries. Restricted to students in the Honors Program.
