CSG 1003 Game Design Concepts (3 hours) Quad Three An introduction to the foundational concepts and principles of game design, focusing on both the technical and creative aspects of game development. Students explore key topics, including ludology, game mechanics, gameplay dynamics, and player engagement, examining how social, cultural, historical, and psychological factors shape game experiences and influence player interaction. Through the game development process, students are encouraged to integrate interdisciplinary perspectives and assess the social, cultural, and ethical impacts of games. Applying design thinking principles, students will prototype and test game concepts that reflect a thoughtful understanding of diverse contexts and audiences.
