LANG 2023 Foundations of Linguistics

(3 hours) Quad Two HCGD

Basic linguistic concepts and analysis are introduced, including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and historical linguistics. Emphasis on use of linguistic theories and methods of analysis in describing human cognition, culture, and the social order.
