GPHY 6013 Introduction to Geosciences Data Analysis(3 hours)
The objective of this course is to provide students with the data analysis foundation to address Geosciences questions using real-world case studies in natural hazards, climate change, environmental contamination, and Earth resources. Data science areas covered in this class include extreme value statistics, multi-variate analysis, geostatistics and spatial uncertainty, and more. The focus lies on developing practical skills on real data sets, executing software and interpreting results. Students need to bring their own laptops for the programming and software practices.
