PE 6613 Carbon Capture Utilization and Sequestration

(3 hours)
Foundations, emerging technologies, and practical applications of CCUS with a focus on the subsurface. Overview of technical issues and emerging technology for carbon capture. Utilization in the context of enhanced hydrocarbon production. Permanent sequestration in geologic formations; injection, trapping mechanisms, and monitoring. Prerequisite: PE 3023.
