BIOL 6193 Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering(3 hours) Impact of new techniques in biotechnology, potential uses, limitations and ethical considerations. Topics include basic and modern concepts of genetic engineering, methodology of gene manipulation, and modern applications in agricultural, industrial, pharmaceutical, and biomedical fields. Emphasis on the engineering aspects not the genetics. Prerequisites: BIOL 1603, 1611, 1703, 1711, 2123 and 2121.
