DS 1043 Program in Python
(3 hours)
Introduction to the field of computer science using the Python programming language. Topics include iteration, recursion, basic data structures, sorting and searching, analysis of algorithms, and an introduction to object-oriented programming. Applications connecting topics to other disciplines will be included. Gain a basic understanding of developing (designing, coding, and debugging) medium-sized programs in Python and a basic understanding of how one analyzes programs for correctness and efficiency. No previous computer programming experience in any language is assumed. University credit is available for only one: either DS 1043 and CS 1043.
