CHEM 6243 Chemistry of Art Conservation(3 Hours) Aims to introduce the student to the broad field of art conservation science. Topics will include light and color, fundamental chemistry, methods of conservation, instrumentation and analytical methods, and the conservation/composition of materials including paper, textiles, stone, metals, glass, ceramics, plastics, leather, and wood. Includes a laboratory component, travel, and final project. Prerequisites: Chem-1013, 1023, & 3013.
