PE 4663 Sustainable Oil and Gas Operations 3 hours Introduction to oil and gas leasing, operations and regulatory affairs issues that are associated with the daily routine of the practicing petroleum engineer. In-depth overview of the requirements and regulations that are required of an oil and gas operator to legally lease, drill, complete, operate and ultimately plug and abandon oil, gas and/or injection wells. Limitations on injectivity and induced seismicity; air pollutant calculations from engine emissions, tank VOC’s and fugitive emissions; sustainability reporting requirements. Prerequisite: junior level standing in engineering programs.
