SOC 3093 Sociology of Poverty

(3 hours) HCGD

Poverty and the poor within the broader context of general social inequality. Focuses on individualistic, cultural, and structural explanations of poverty and examines the policy implications deriving from each type of explanation. Prerequisite: an introductory course in one of the social sciences or permission of instructor. Same as WS 3093 .
