CS 6333 Computer Networks(3 hours) Foundations of computer network design: requirements, architecture, and software. Layering and protocols. OSI and Internet architecture. Direct link networks: building blocks, encoding, framing, error detection, reliable transmission and media access control. Packet switched networks and the datagram approach. IP Protocol and internetworking. Process to process communication (TCP, UDP, and others). Applications Prerequisite: CS 3053 or 4323 or permission of instructor.
