ARTH 6133 Greek and Roman Art(3 hours) Examines Greek art from the Archaic to the Hellenistic period and Roman art from the Early to the Late Empire. It offers a critique of the historigraphic presentation of Greek works of art as developmentally progressive, and an examination of the use of Roman form and content for political purposes. Slide lecture and discussion. Prerequisite: ARTH 2203 or permission of instructor.
