MATH 1163 Pre-calculus Mathematics (3 hours) Intensive calculus preparatory course emphasizing a functional approach to topics in algebra, trigonometry, exponents and logarithms, and analytic geometry that are essential to the study of calculus. Students should consult with advisor to determine whether this course can be taken for credit in a particular degree program. Prerequisites: Equivalent of two years high school algebra and one year plane geometry, or the University mathematics placement examination, or MATH 1053 .
