BIOL 4163 Experimental Techniques in Molecular Biology
(3 hours)
Isolate and detect RNA, DNA and protein; manipulate RNA and DNA; clone a gene of interest using polymerase chain reaction, and sequence DNA. Provides background for further work in cell biology, virology, biotechnology, disease diagnostics and microbiology. Prerequisites: BIOL 1603 , BIOL 1611 , BIOL 1703 , BIOL 1711 , and BIOL 2124 with grades of D or higher. Lecture and laboratory combined four hours per week.
