Geophysics, B.S.G.P.

The University of Tulsa is not accepting applications or matriculating new undergraduate students into the bachelor’s program in geophysics beyond the Fall 2019 term. Students who have matriculated into the bachelor’s program may not declare geophyscis as a major after the Spring 2020 term.


 

First Year Experience (1 hour)


Technical Electives (11 hours)


Any course within the College of Engineering and Natural Sciences, selected with approval of student’s advisor.

General Electives (15 hours)


Selected with the approval of the student’s advisor.

Humanities, Social Sciences, and English (24 hours)


Total: 131 hours


*Some students will complete a modified series of courses. See Special Requirements .

Students must complete each of the required major courses listed under the curriculum with at least a grade of “C” and an overall G.P.A. of at least 2.0 in order to receive a degree in geosciences. Major courses are all geology and geophysics courses.

Foundation courses in geophysics include MATH 2014 , CHEM 1013 CHEM 1011 , GEOL 1014 , and PHYS 2053 . Refer to the table  for specific GPA requirements.
