POL 3243 Environmentalism Political and Legal Theory (3 hours) Explores the classics in the development of an environmental consciousness. Readings include works by Thoreau, Muir, Olmstead, Leopold, Carson, and Naess. Discussion of environmental public politics, focusing on costs and benefits, and externalities. Students will write policy papers, culminating in a presentation to the class.
